HOW WE WORK

At SNAP PCF, we believe that parent carer voices should not just be heard; they should help shape what happens next.

WE SUPPORT

We support parents to navigate SEND services by providing information, signposting and practical support, so families can better understand their options and where to go for help.

WE LISTEN

We hear directly from parent carers through our membership, conversations, surveys, events and everyday contact with families.

We want to hear the positives, the negatives and everything in between. What is working well matters just as much as what needs to improve.

WE INFLUENCE

We take what parents tell us into strategic conversations with senior leaders at Central Bedfordshire Council, local NHS services and other key partners.

We use real experiences and evidence to ask questions, challenge where things aren't working and push for improvement.

WE IMPROVE

We don't simply raise an issue and walk away. We work with decision-makers, follow up on actions and keep parent carer experiences at the heart of service improvement.

As the parent carer forum for Central Bedfordshire, SNAP PCF has an established role in bringing the collective parent carer voice into strategic discussions about SEND services. 

That work is happening now. We are already working directly with senior leaders at Central Bedfordshire Council and have meetings arranged to discuss issues raised by parents.

YOUR EXPERIENCE MATTERS

We are currently collecting parent carer experiences of local SEND services to help us build a clear picture of what is working well, where families are experiencing difficulties and where improvements are needed.

This evidence is important to our ongoing work with the Council and partners and will also help us understand the experiences of families as we prepare for future Ofsted/CQC SEND inspection activity.
