Neurodivergent

At SNAP PCF, we use the term neurodivergent to describe children and young people whose brains process information, emotions, and the world around them differently from what is often considered “typical.” This may include autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s and other neurological differences.

Neurodiversity is a natural part of human variation. Neurodivergent children may experience the world, learning, communication and emotions in different ways. Alongside challenges, there are also many strengths — creativity, honesty, unique thinking, determination and deep interests, to name just a few.

As a parent carer forum, we are here to listen, support and amplify the voices of families raising neurodivergent children in Central Bedfordshire. We believe in understanding, acceptance and working together to ensure our children are valued, included and supported to thrive.
