Healthy Parent Carer Programme
SNAP Parent Carer Forum is pleased to offer the Healthy Parent Carer Programme to support the well-being of local parent carers.
We know that caring for a child or young person with additional needs can be demanding, and it’s easy to put your own needs to one side. This programme gives you the opportunity to take some time for yourself, in a supportive and understanding environment.
About the programme
The Healthy Parent Carer Programme is a friendly, peer-led course, developed by parent carers, for parent carers.
It focuses on helping you make small, realistic changes to improve your overall health and well-being. Sessions are relaxed and informal, with plenty of opportunity to share experiences and learn from others.
What to expect
By joining the programme, you can:
How it works
Who can join?
The programme is open to parent carers of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) who are members of SNAP PCF.
You don’t need any previous experience—just a willingness to take some time for yourself.
Places are limited, so early booking is recommended. Information is sent out to members via email. We encourage you to attend all sessions where possible to get the most from the programme.
A safe space
We aim to create a safe, welcoming and confidential space for all participants. Everyone is asked to respect each other’s experiences, and any information shared is treated sensitively.
